This paper is an endeavor to reflect upon the valuable efforts of a great Muslim educationist of the sub-continent, Syed Abdul A’ala Maududi, who discussed the educational issues of Pakistan in a true sense of loyalty. Syed Maududi was a profuse writer, and is credited with literally hundreds of works on a diverse range of issues. This article discusses some of his intellectual contributions and educational thoughts. His philosophy of education has tremendous significance for educational system of Pakistan. He was not satisfied with the contemporary system of education and suggested amalgamation of religious and worldly knowledge. Moral development was the main theme of Syed Maududi’s thought. He criticized the role of madrassa; that was not addressing the needs of society. He proposed the education system for all levels. He gave the practical solutions of educational problems of the society. His thoughts have the capacity to meet the challenges of the modern age. Syed Maududi’s simple answers to complex problems have a wide appeal.
