Abstract

The title of article "Critical study of contradiction in the Anti-Islamic western concept of equality" is studying the concept of equality, as the term of 'equality' seems to be good and attractive but the question is that is it practically possible? Different schools of thought have different views of equality and there is a huge disagreement between their views that which type of equality should be impose in the society. In this context Negel raises a question that, what is equality? How can it be understood? Although we know that humans cannot be completely similar they differ in their intelligence, beauty, height, strength, hair color, birth place and in many other issues. According to Collins dictionary of philosophy equality means similarity, for example, equality in opportunities, equality in earning, and equality in rights e.t.c. On the other hand absolute equality means equality in all conditions. According to Cambridge dictionary, equality is the right of different groups of people to have a similar social position and receive the same treatment. Amyrta Sen presents an example for equality that, if the incomes of every person would be equal then that would be an unequal situation because every person performs different task. According to ex-president of American Political Science Association Professor Dowell, it won't be useful if equality would be made standard.Actually in Western philosophy, concept of equality has been divided into two types;(1)Absolute equality (2)Conditional equality. An analysis and critical view in this perspective has been given in the following article so that the actual concept and term of equality could be understood.
