Abstract

Blasphemy is emotionally and religiously considered delinquent in the Muslim society. The history reveals whenever as issue had been created in this aspect the Muslims have shown extreme reaction towards it. A large group of religious scholars convict a united opinion over this matter. After the assassination of the governor Punjab Salman Taseer by Mumtaz Qadri similar overwhelming situation had been encountered however, in this regard, the decision of the judiciary opposed that of the religious scholar. The media has great responsibility in such situation in order to be conscious while putting such news in the relevance of such subject to serve the nation. Keeping in the circumstances in view, in this research article, an analysis has been made over the role played by the media of the country. Why has the religious elements and general public by in large not yet accepted the media's role and why the press clubs and media outlets being attacked?
