Abstract

Iqbal was born in the rising age of British colonialism. He used to observe all the corrupt policies of this way of rule, especially, towards the conquered countries, since his student life. However, for a keen observation of European culture he visited Europe in 1905 and stayed there till 1908. Within a very short period, i.e. three years, he observed that the European culture itself has a blasting material in its soul, which is dangerous for all human beings. So he came back with a complete plan against every aspect of colonialist way of rule, such as feudalism, capitalism, dictatorship, imperialism and even European made democracy. He devoted all his life to reject and criticize the policies of colonialism and imperialism that could be seen in all his available poetry and prose. A deep study of his education shows that all his philosophies are gathered as a chain of resistance against colonialism. This article presents Iqbal as the worst enemy of colonialism and imperialism of the 20th century in the light of his poetry and prose.
