Abstract

Islam is a complete code of life which offers its own Social, Political and Economic Systems, to guide humans in all the spheres of life. Zakaat is an important tool of fiscal policy in the Economic System of Islam. It is an important source of providing economic protection, alleviation of poverty and fair distribution of wealth. In Pakistan attempts were made in 1980 to implement the Zakaat and usher Ordinance, to get these objectives. However, some aspects in the implementation of this ordinance are debatable and need to be revised. This article analyzes the implementation of Zakaat ordinance and related issues.
